OHLCV and history

Marking exposes candles derived from canonical signed ticks.

curl "https://api.marking.fyi/v1/feeds/btc-usd/ohlcv?interval=1m&limit=120"

Supported intervals:

1s, 5s, 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h, 1d, 24h

The MVP retention model is cost-controlled:

  • one-second base candles for short hot windows;
  • one-minute base candles for seven-day chart history;
  • larger intervals derived from base candles rather than stored as duplicate rows.

Volume caveat: canonical price feeds may return volume: "0" when traded volume is not part of the normalized source contract. Do not present that as exchange volume.

Candle finalization

A candle is finalized after its bucket closes. In-progress candles can update until the bucket end time.

For charting:

  • use bucketStart as the candle time;
  • treat finalized: false as the currently forming candle;
  • avoid calculating 24-hour change from incomplete history.
